Englewood Lighthouse Resort pays tribute to lighthouses. Naturally then, the lighthouse theme is very prominent in the decor of all of our cottages. This page offers pictures and other information. Our Resort Map page shows how it is all laid out.
Englewood Lighthouse Resort has some nice things you might enjoy using while staying here with us. We have a long dock that extends into Lemon Bay. You can fish off the pier, spot some dolphins, adore some manatee, watch the pelicans, or dock your boat. For those who caught some fish, we have a cleaning table right there for your convenience. For those who kayak or wish to take a dip in Lemon Bay from our resort, we have a small sandy beach right next to the dock that you may use.
Our in-ground pool is screened-in and heated seasonally. It is just a few steps from the bay so it provides a great place to relax. Near the pool is the Clubhouse. The Clubhouse has a living area, an exercise machine, and a screened lanai for your use (Clubhouse available August through May).
For our guests, we provide free rentals of bikes, tennis rackets, videos, DVD's, CD's, and fishing rods for a small deposit. We also offer free wireless internet service (FREE WIFI) and usage of an internet computer with printer in our Clubhouse. We also have a shuffleboard court for all guests to use. WIFI available year-round, but free rentals only available August through May.
There is a laundry room on-site for your use. In the laundry room, are a washing machine, a dryer, and some other essentials you might need during your stay. We also have gas grills available for your use when the urge to barbeque strikes you. If it's just sitting around and relaxing that you enjoy, note that most of our cottages have sreened-in porches, or sunrooms.
Our resort is prettiest at dusk. Our guests prefer a sunset meal on the Clubhouse lanai or a relaxing break on the dock. Because we face directly west, the sunsets are spectacular! We also have landscaped grounds with numerous types of local flora. Some of the trees we have include a mango tree, a grapefruit tree, and an orange tree. Sampling some of our fine fruit (in season) is just one way to enjoy our resort.
We are right in the heart of Old Englewood, where the enchanting feel of a long-forgotten tropical Florida will overwhelm you. At a time when so much of our beautiful Florida landscape is being threatened, it is refreshing to be away from high-rise condos and theme parks. Although our property is one acre in size, we only have one other house on all of three acres around us. Please see the aerial photos which show our property from a birdseye view.
